Manoj Kumar Jain, who was born in Delhi, obtained his BFA from the Delhi College of Art in 1992. His solo exhibitions include Anantanant at the Academy of Fine Arts and Literature, Siri Fort, New Delhi, in 2004, Stories: Hidden within Shades of White at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, in 2001, and Delli O Delli at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, curated by Radhika Singh (Fotomedia) in 1999. The group exhibitions in which he participated include Warriors of Light curated by Damyanti Gallery for Indian Art, New Delhi, in 2007; Caring for a… Beautiful Mind at Damyanti Gallery for Indian Art, New Delhi in 2006, and Maneka Gandhi show for animal welfare, New Delhi, in 2005.
Jain received the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society Photography Award in 1997 and the Delhi College of Art Photographer of the Year Award in 1992. He has worked as a freelance photographer, as the Creative Group Head, Contract (J. Walter Thomson Company) from 1996 to 1999, and as the Art Director for Mudra Communications, New Delhi, from 1992 to 1996. The book projects on which Jain has worked include The Positive Side (Modicare Foundation, Delhi). The Built Heritage (INTACH) and If I Were Rain (produced by Youth Reach).
